YouTube games

June 8, 2009

In the last few months, YouTube have added the Annotations feature, which lets you put a button or a link in your videos. While it’s quite a simple feature, it has a lot of possibilities. For instance, American ad agency Boone Oakley used it to make their entire website on YouTube:

It also allows for menus and even games. And I should know, I’ve just made one. It’s for that evening class I mentioned, the brief being:

“Make a 5-second video featuring a red dot that doesn’t move, and get maximum YouTube hits”.

The game’s called Chk Chk Boyle (after Chk Chk Boom) and involves clicking a red dot on Susan Boyle’s forehead to get to the next level. It’s a bit tricky so go back if you miss it the first time. It gets funnier as it goes along.

Let me know what you think.
